The Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) for the training industry offers competency-based training with modules setting out knowledge and skill standards matched to learning outcomes.
It covers competencies, which can be tailored according to the role or key function undertaken by the training and development practitioner. The modular-based framework allows you to flexibly accumulate the competencies you need. It also takes into account your previous learning experiences through both formal and informal channels.
There are 2 learning modes available to learners namely:
(a) Train and Assess Candidates attend scheduled training sessions and take the formal assessment after the training.
(b) Assessment Only Pathway (AOP) Candidates who have the knowledge and experience in competency-based training and assessment and are confident of taking the assessment without undergoing training may wish to consider the AOP.

Also with effect from 5 Jan 2009 we have revised the top-up requirements for candidates who have achieved some of the SOAs for Competency Modules (CM) from the previous ACTA and wish to know which additional Competency Units (CUs) to take to attain a full qualification.
