Getting Skills for the National Infocomm Competency Framework
The National Infocomm Competency Framework, or NICF, is a national continuing education and training system for the infocomm sector. It is also a part of the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualification system, and is jointly developed by the Singapore Workforce Development and IDA, together with representatives from the Infocomm industry. It aims to provide Infocomm professionals, including new entrants, with clear skills upgrading and career progression pathways to enhance their employability in the fast changing Infocomm sector.
NICF maps job competencies to key Infocomm occupations, thus serving as a useful tool for skills upgrading and career development. Besides specific job competencies, NICF also covers portable skills and competencies that are common across the various occupation groups, facilitating career mobility within similar ICT sectors as well as across different industries.
NICF qualifications are recognised by the industry and the programmes are available through various training providers. Please click here (hyperlinked to http://www.nicf.sg) for more information on the NICF.
