For Landscape

Skills needed in the Landscape Industry

Landscape WSQ establishes the national occupational standards for each landscape job function and maps out the skills progression pathways at each level – Operations, Supervisory & Managerial.

The standards have been drawn up by the Singapore Landscape Industry Council comprising industry representatives, industry associations, government economic agencies and key training providers.

The training under Landscape WSQ leads to national qualifications like Certificates, Advanced Certificates and Diplomas, that are recognised throughout the local landscape industry.

Skills at the certificate level include the following areas:

  • Landscape Management, Maintenance and Construction
  • Arboriculture
  • Interiorscapes
  • Turf Management
  • Nursery
  • Floristry
  • Employability Skills (ESS)

Landscape WSQ has replaced the National Skills Recognition System (NSRS). If workers already have NSRS training or certificate for the landscape modules that are fully aligned or mapped to Landscape WSQ, they need not repeat the same training modules under Landscape WSQ.
