The Aerospace WSQ framework is developed to
- Facilitate entry into the Aerospace MRO Industry by training adult workers on the actual job-requirements
- Re-train and re-deploy vulnerable and/or displaced workers from other manufacturing sectors to the Aerospace MRO Industry
- Certify workers with requisite skills and knowledge for a particular job scope, articulating their capabilities and skills to Aerospace MRO employers and promoting mobility across aerospace companies
- Expand and maintain a ready pool of trained aerospace labour for the manpower needs of Aerospace companies
- Create a qualification system pegged to different skills-level to enable career progression within the Aerospace MRO Industry.
The Aerospace WSQ framework comprises the 6 Aerospace MRO sub-sectors:
- Aircraft Maintenance (Mechanical)
- Aircraft Maintenance (Avionics)
- Component Repair and Overhaul (Mechanical)
- Component Repair and Overhaul (Avionics)
- Engine/Engine Component Repair & Overhaul
- Modifications and Conversions
The six corresponding Aerospace MRO Qualifications are:
